Support programme focuses on cost and energy efficiency

In 2012, the support programme, held at the Ceramitec Forum in Hall A5, will again provide a platform for information-gathering, knowledge-transfer, research and development. Attendance at all the specialist lectures and panel discussions is free of charge. Simultaneous interpretation (German/English) is provided at all the lectures.

Heavy Clay Day

The “Heavy Clay Day” will take place on Wednesday, 23 May 2012. The trade journal Zi Brick and Tile Industry International will present first-rate speakers focusing on the subject of the “conservation of natural resources and energy efficiency” and the chances and opportunities this opens up for the heavy clay industry. For the first time, the ECTS (European Ceramic Technology Suppliers) working group is participating at this event in the scope of a panel discussion.

India Day

Another highlight in the support programme is the India Day, taking place on Friday, 25 May. This is the second time an India Day has been held at Ceramitec. Organized by the Indian office of Germany’s engineering federation, the VDMA, this event looks at the general situation and conditions on the Indian market.

Guided tours

A range of guided tours is being introduced for the first time this year. Different tours will be put together on the topics of “Heavy Clay”, “Technical Ceramics” and “Energy-efficiency, kilns, refractories”; participants will be taken around the fair to see the highlights related to the respective themes. Two tours per day are planned, both in English and lasting around two-and-a-half hours. There is no charge for trade visitors wishing to take part in the guided tours.

ThinkIng

The international platform offered by Ceramitec 2012 is also being used for the second time for a “ThinkIng” initiative, at which schoolchildren and students have the chance to meet and talk to leading companies from the sector and find out about the working world of engineers, electrical technicians and process technicians engaged in the industry today.
