CRH to close down their Algermissen roofing tile plant
Within the next few
months, the CRH Clay Solutions Plant in Algermissen, Lower Saxony, will be ceasing production of both product lines: curved roofing tiles and curved interlocking roofing tiles, and the entire factory is slated for shutdown by late summer. “For economic reasons, including slow incoming orders in recent years,” explains Theo Wenke, the plant‘s marketing and sales manager, „we have been attempting to keep the factory going by adjusting our production. Now, however, our curved-tile niche business has also been lagging too far behind, and the plant‘s closure has become unavoidable.“ Having made the decision, the company is still pondering the exact date of closure, because orders in hand still have to be handled and current inventories sold off.
