Welcome to the 70th Clemson Brick Forum 2024
The 70th Clemson Brick Forum will be held on Monday, September 30th, and Tuesday, October 1st of this year in Anderson, South Carolina, near Clemson University.Since its inception in 1955, this meeting has been hosted by brick people for brick people. This year’s programs will feature approximately 40 presentations on topics including best practices, plant upgrades, crystalline silica regulations, embodied carbon, and health and safety topics. We are very excited about the program and preliminary registration data suggests that the meeting will again be well attended.
In addition to the technical program, we will have our traditional evening hospitality program, which allows time for manufacturers and suppliers to meet and discuss their issues in a relaxed format. The Forum finishes with our annual steak cookout, which is a highlight for most attendees. The suppliers who sponsor this meeting help us to provide all of this programming, and the proceeds of the meeting are used to operate and equip our laboratory, which in turn supports the brick industry so that everything comes full circle. As mentioned, we have several presentations related to embodied carbon and expect the number of these presentations to grow in the coming years as state and federal regulations change. One of my goals as program director for this event is to introduce innovations with applications to brick making to the US Brick Industry.The National Brick Research Center is proud to host the Clemson Brick Forum, providing an opportunity for information sharing, industry networking, and professional development.
