Brick manufacturer Schmid commissions new plant for insulation-filled bricks

Clay construction product manufacturer Schmid in Bönnigheim is starting up its first filling plant for Coriso clay masonry units.

In procuring their new Coriso plant, they attached first priority to good energy efficiency: “Thanks to hydraulic optimization of the overall system, we were able to reduce its energy consumption to only two-thirds that of the previous models”, says Karl Thomas Schmid, chief technology officer at brick manufacturer Schmid. “For us, that was a very important aspect.” The company has further plans for additional improvements in energy efficiency, too. For example, a modern energy management system being installed right now is slated for commissioning within the coming year.
