ECTS meets representatives of the Mexican brick and tile industry
On 8 October 2018, a delegation of twelve ECTS member companies held a Technology Symposium in the Northern Mexican city of Monterrey.
Across the country, there are thousands of small brick and roofing tile manufacturers, but the most modern brick plants in Mexico are located in the region around Monterrey.
Andrés Aranda from the Jalisco State Government gave an impressive presentation about number and conditions of small Mexican brick producers. New environmental legislation is forcing them to reduce drastically emissions.
Exhaustive discussions with more than 80 brickmakers from all over the country helped the delegates understand the Mexican market better.
On 9 and 10 October, the delegation visited two of the biggest brick plants in Monterrey: Santa Clara and Ladrillera Mecanizada.
