New solid fuel firing facility for Cerámica Belianes
The Spanish firing specialist Beralmar has supplied a new solid fuel firing facility, a Micromatic system, to Cerámica Belianes in Lleida (Spain).
The system uses petcoke with optimum properties, that is with less than 1% humidity and <100 µm diameter. The delivered fuel is stored in silos and transported pneumatically to the firing zone and then pneumatically injected into the kiln.
The Micromatic facility contributes approximately 70% of the energy consumed by the kiln for a production of between 300 and 400 t/day, depending on the product. Preheating is fuelled with natural gas.
The Micromatic system was developed by Beralmar on the basis of the Promatic system in 2001 when suppliers of optimal dry micronized petcoke appeared on the market. The system has been a success with more than 70 projects around the world. Beralmar has now delivered more than 250 solid fuel firing systems, Micromatic and Promatic systems, for tunnel kilns, which makes Beralmar one of the most experienced suppliers in this field in the sector.
