Goinger Farm in Kitzbuehel

In 2007 a fire destroyed the barn at Goinger Farm in Kitzbuehel; the barn had housed holiday apartments. The barn was rebuilt and given a particularly striking roof covering: the original wooden shingles commonly used in the region were not considered as roof covering materials owing to their limited durability. Instead, a successful attempt was made to achieve the desired roof appearance with specially designed, innovative clay roofing tiles.

Both in visual and qualitative terms, the clay roofing tile could surpass everything a wooden or slate shingle could promise in terms of effect. Moreover, the clay roofing tile proved easier to fit. The extravagant roof appearance was achieved with a mix of three colour shades and three different sizes. The roof structure is now valued just as much as the proven naturalness and durability of the roof – sustainability in the purest sense!
