The 18th edition of MosBuild, international building and interiors exhibition, ended with a success on 13 April 2012. For the first time since its launch, the event was staged over two weeks in central Moscow’s main exhibition venue Expocentre, and it comprised 16 major sub-exhibitions.
The first week “Design & Décor” was held from 2 to 5 April 2012 and brought together the interiors sectors Bathrooms, Ceramica, Decotex, Doors & Locks, Flooring, Paints & Coatings, Technoceramica and Wall Décor.
The second week “Building & Architecture” took place from 10 to 13 April 2012 and featured the exhibitions Building Materials & Equipment, Country Construction, Hardware & Tools, Lighting & Electrics, Plumbing & Pipes, Stonex, Structural & Interior Finishes and Windowbuild.
A total of 2 298 companies from 45 countries participated at MosBuild, and there were 16 national groups presenting their latest products and innovations. The event covered 148 438 gross square metres, occupying all the pavilions of Expocentre, and had a total attendance of 101 233 visitors.
Technoceramica
Many of the suppliers of plants and machinery as well as other suppliers to the heavy clay industry expressed certain dissatisfaction with the splitting of the trade fair over two dates. The Technoceramica from 2 to 5 April did not register enough visitors as the brickmakers and potential trade visitors of Technoceramica only exhibited in the second week and most of them did not come to the exhibition on two occasions. Many also regarded the relocation of the exhibition area to another pavilion as unfavourable. Here the machine engineering companies and suppliers see room for improvement.
Outlook
From 2013 MosBuild will be divided into three main exhibitions at both Expocentre as well as at the new pavilion 75 and hall 69 of All-Russian Exhibition Centre (VVC). All products in the field of construction and interiors will run as “MosBuild – Building & Interiors” from 2–5 April 2013 at Expocentre. At the same time VVC will host “MosBuild – Fenestration”, international exhibition for the window industry. The sectors bathrooms, sanitaryware and ceramics will be presented from 16–19 April 2013 at Expocentre under the name “MosBuild – Cersanex”.
