Batimatec 2010 – 13th International Exhibition for Construction and Interiors

Algeria’s construction and property industry has enjoyed steady growth since the year 2002. A 50-bill. US dollar project for the development of the infrastructure and property is currently being realized in Algeria. The government has drawn up a 5-year plan (2005-2010), which foresees the construction of 1 mill. new housing units. This has substantially encouraged cooperation with foreign companies. Other projects, such as the building of hotels, supermarkets and a stadium in Algeria are currently under planning. The realization of these projects depends heavily on the modernization of the technologies and methods applied in the Algerian construction industry. With the planned privatization of many nationalized companies, the doors are opening for foreign investors, bringing a healthy demand for construction technology and expertise and therefore attractive opportunities for foreign companies to enter the Algerian market.
At Batimatec 2009, 541 exhibitors from 16 countries presented their products and services to the 30 000 visitors on an area of 25 000 m².
