ceramitec 2015: Supporting Program with Focus on Industry 4.0
The international key trade show for the entire ceramics industry, ranging from classic ceramics and raw materials to powder metallurgy to technical ceramics, will take place on the exhibition grounds of Messe München from 20 to 23 October 2015.
The Supporting Program in the ceramitec Forum in Hall B1 will be once again the platform for the transfer of knowledge and expertise in research and development. Attendance to the specialist lectures and panel discussions will be free of charge. Simultaneous translation in German and English will be offered for all lectures.
Opening with panel discussion
Cross-sector topics of future relevance are also one of the concerns of the ceramics industry, which will find reflection at ceramitec. The top-class Supporting Program therefore starts with a panel discussion themed "ceramitec goes digital" on the opening day, Tuesday 20 October 2015.
Over last three years, new processes such as digital decoration and generative manufacturing have made the breakthrough to series production. Experts from ceramics and powder metallurgy will report on progress in additive manufacturing with regard to industrial realization and further needs for research and development. In addition, the participants of the panel discussion will talk about the
meaning of Industry 4.0 for the ceramics industry.
Powder Metallurgy Day
On Tuesday afternoon, the Powder Metallurgy Association will present the "Powder Metallurgy Day". Under the title "3D Screen-Printing of Ceramics and Metals", well-known specialist lecturers from the powder metallurgy and ceramics industries will talk about the dynamic developments in the field of additive manufacturing in various lecture sessions, thus building a bridge to the impetus given in the panel discussion.
Heavy Clay Day
With an emphasis on "Resource efficiency in the brick industry", the professional magazine "ZI Ziegelindustrie International" will organize the "Heavy Clay Day" for the third time at ceramitec on Wednesday 21 October. The efficient use of resources is one of the major challenges for the heavy clay industry. Besides the use of raw materials and energy, this implies optimum personnel and logistics planning. A lecture program animated by high-profile speakers will shed light on this topic in all its diversity. Among other things, its contents will cover the efficient use of raw materials, a new energy-saving kiln for brick burning and the use of alternative fuels.
Iran Country Special
Another highlight will be the country special on Wednesday afternoon, which will deal with the development of the ceramics industry in Iran. The President of the Iranian Ceramics Society, Professor Farad Golestani, will report on the status of the Iranian ceramics industry and the exchange with international manufacturers. Specialists in foreign trade and banking, experts from the German Engineering Federation VDMA and leading manufacturers of ceramics machinery will report on their experiences in export business with Iran.
Technical Ceramics Day
The "Technical Ceramics Day" on Thursday 22 October will commence with an introduction into the topic of "Industry 4.0/ / Integrated Industry" in the ceramics industry. Well-known speakers will present the most important materials groups in the area of technical ceramics. In addition, there will be talks on additive manufacturing as well as innovations with ceramic components in mechanical engineering. Associations and institutes will also be presenting their activities and services.
Career Day
ceramitec will also pay special attention to the topic of "junior professionals", which is of great importance to the industry. The Career Day – a special info day around the topic of “career in the ceramics industry" will take place for the first time on Friday 23 October. Besides lectures and discussion rounds on education and further training possibilities, students, graduates and young professionals can gather information on development and career opportunities from attractive
employers in the Career Lounge in the Forum (Hall B1).
