Business surpasses exhibitors’ expectations
The MosBuild 2009, which took place from 31 March to 3 April, featured 2 483 companies representing 45 countries. Exhibitors demonstrated their latest products and future projects to 98 393 visitors. MosBuild is split into 26 individual, sector-specific exhibitions, offering visitors a very good orientation and ensuring that they can easily find the products that interest them. As one of the biggest exhibitions in Russia, MosBuild filled Moscow’s two largest exhibition centres, Expocentre and Crocus Expo.
This major trade event was keenly anticipated by those involved in Russia’s building and interiors sector, as it is seen to provide an insight into the industries’ performance over the next year. According to the International Event Manager, Darryl Pawsey, many exhibitors expressed their concern that the global economic crisis would dominate discussions during the exhibition. However, most were surprised to find the mood much more positive than they had expected. The organizers concluded that the mood among exhibitors was very positive, with optimistic predictions for their companies’ business development on the Russian market. Many exhibitors believed that it was an important time to be demonstrating strength in the market.
Brick and tile industry at the MosBuild
For the representatives of the ceramic industry the Technoceramica on the Expocentre site was particularly interesting. Here, over 70 suppliers presented their products and services in the two halls of Pavilion 5. For the heavy clay sector a large number of the international market leaders were present. The technical journal Zi Brick and Tile Industry International presented the latest projects and technical papers for the Russian market in the Russian issue of Zi, the Zi Russia 1/2009.
In the heavy clay sector the exhibition started off with some restraint on the first day, but then gained momentum, so that the plant and machinery constructors expressed their satisfaction in the end.
Lingl very satisfied with MosBuild 2009
Andreas Lingl, managing partner of the German family-run, medium-sized company Lingl was very satisfied and commented: “Russia and the CIS are an essential pillar of our international sales. So it goes without saying that we present our company and our products at the MosBuild, consolidate our existing contacts there and meet new customers.” In spite of the strained state of the economy it was possible to strengthen the existing customer relations and establish new contacts. The managing partner Frank Appel stated: “Especially the new plants and products developed by us which are used for the filling of large-sized insulating thermal blocks have awakened the lively interest of the Russian customer base.” The repeated participation of Lingl at the MosBuild with an enlarged exhibition booth will further strengthen the excellent reputation of the plant manufacturer on the Russian market.

Keen interest was aroused by the recently completed projects, such as “Wienerberger Kirpitsch” in Kiprewo/
Vladimir Region (multi-wire cutter Multicut), OAO “Keramika” in Belebej/Bashkorstan Republic (multi-wire cutter Multicut with rusticator) and ZAO “NZKM-Centrgas” in Novomoskovsk/
