Customized solutions as well as products and systems that provide more efficiency and sustainability – to meet this challenge, the Beumer group (
www.beumer.com), based in Beckum and with subsidiaries and representatives around the world, has been developing state-of-the-art intralogistic systems. The range of products of the globally operating, family-owned company includes conveying, loading, palletizing and packaging technology, as well as sorting and distribution systems – used in applications with very high requirements. These applications include the clay brick and roofing tile industry.
„Our goal is not short-term profit, but long-term success” – this is the mission statement of the company founded by Bernhard Beumer in Beckum in 1935. The company’s innovative technologies include, for example, the high-capacity packaging system Beumer stretch hood, with which the Beckum-based company aims to get more involved in the clay brick and tile industry. To securely package bricks and tiles stacked on pallets ready for transport, the packaging technology must meet exacting requirements, and here the Beumer stretch hood provides the optimum solution: the high-capacity packaging system automatically determines the different stacking heights and calculates the optimal film consumption. The film is then cut and bonded appropriately, and the stretch hood formed is pulled over the palletized load unit. The stretch film hood provides high stability with lasting vertical and horizontal tension force. The load units are efficiently protected against weather or dust and moisture.
Beumer stretch hooding systems
Beumer stretch hooding systems represent the state-of-the-art in pallet packaging. Featuring market-leading control technology, modular design, and optimized packaging film handling, the stretch hooding system offers an incomparable range of pallet packaging options to cover a broad range of pallet packaging challenges and requirements. With this system, the Beumer Group is already extremely successful in the chemicals and cement industry. As shrink wrapping processes still dominate in the clay brick and tile industry, Beumer sees a growing market in this sector, especially as stretch hooding has the following advantages compared to shrink wrapping:
› no heating of film – reduces the risk of fire
› reduced film consumption by up to 30%, and 90% energy savings – this lowers the environmental impact
› higher flexibility for handling different product sizes
› no sprinkler system or additional cooling system for ambient temperature required
› increased load stability
› the packaging solution protects the palletized goods from theft
› 5-sided protection against external impacts
› sound pressure level
< 75 db (A)
› reduced maintenance
Beumer not only offers standard solutions, but designs, builds and installs systems tailored in detail to specific project requirements – including the specific requirements of the clay brick and tile industry.
