A new 900 t/d plant for AKEK S.A.
AKEK S.A., one of Greece’s leading structural ceramic producers, implemented a major project last year in Heraklion, on the Mediterranean island of Crete. Christakos Konstantinos, the company’s owner and General Manager, prepared the project in all detail with the help of his employees. The Italian plant and equipment engineering contractor Marcheluzzo Impianti was commissioned to install the new plant, which has a production capacity of 900 tons per day.
1 Introduction
In addition to Marcheluzzo’s reliability, it was the contractor’s willingness to tackle this challenging job that prompted AKEK to call them in. Marcheluzzo had to make do with the available space, supply a number of different systems and, in particular, minimize the plant’s consumption of energy. That latter factor, namely, is becoming increasingly important in connection with decisions for or against any particular high-performance system.
