Deutsche Poroton: New executive board elected
To strengthen Poroton’s executive board, Heidrun Keul, head of Strategic Marketing & Product Management at Wienerberger GmbH, has been elected as a new board member.
“By sharing responsibilities, we want to further develop our three-point plan of increasing energy efficiency, minimizing CO2 emissions with new technologies and utilizing green power for the production of Poroton blocks,” says Johannes Edmüller, in his capacity as re-elected Chairman of the Poroton association and Managing Partner at Schlagmann Poroton. In addition, Jürgen Habenbacher, spokesman for the Wienerberger GmbH management, was confirmed as Deputy Member and Clemens Kuhlemann as General Secretary at Deutsche Poroton in their offices.
Protecting the climate, promoting biodiversity
According to information from the member companies, Schlagmann Poroton and Wienerberger are continually investing in manufacturing and processing technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, by, for example, using hydrogen and green power as a substitute for fossil fuels. The association is optimistic that in this year, with the German election looming, decision-makers from politics and science will be increasingly interested in the climate neutrality of modern Poroton products, the association’s contribution to preserving biodiversity and the advantages of the brick as a construction material for healthy homes.
