Developing the suitable strategy

To be successful in the medium and long term, companies need a strategy. In management theory there are many approaches to as well as several schools (of thought) on developing a strategy. It is important to know these to make a decision in strategy development to find an adequate way forward.

1 Introduction

Those responsible in the organization must obtain a consensus on what (development) goals the company can and wants to achieve in the medium and long term – and with which strategic and tactical actions these goals can be achieved. This consensus can be found with or without external support.
