Digital printing for roofing tiles
Thanks to inkjet printing, it is possible to individually design surfaces. With this process, a wide variety of design in optimum quality is not only possible in the ceramic tile industry. In the inkjet printing process, a digital printer is used to apply small drops of ceramic ink (drop-on-demand technology) to the glaze surface and create the desired design in high resolution (up to 400 dpi and more are possible depending on the type of print-head). In this connection, the form and geometry of the surface to be printed plays a crucial role. As an ink supplier, Reimbold & Strick/Torrecid Group is a pioneer and world market leader in ceramic digital printing. The Torrecid Group was one of the first companies to develop pigmented ceramic inks and can draw on more than a decade of experience in industrial application. Besides the use of diverse coloured inks, it is possible to digitally apply effect inks such as matt, glossy and metallic inks as well as digital glazes.
