Equipceramic expanding its project portfolio in Algeria in 2014
Briqueterie Khamane
This new plant will have a production capacity of 100 000 t/year hollow blocks and it is the result of several months of work between Equipceramic’s team of technicians and Briqueterie Khamane’s leading team. The turnkey project integrates state-of-the-art technological developments. Equipceramic will be in charge of the entire project, its responsibilities comprising: design of the facilities, selection of the most suitable equipment, organization of the production process and training of the employees. The customer will only be in charge of the construction of the industrial bays. Briqueterie Khamane was looking for a supplier who was able to perform comprehensive management of the project until the target production was achieved. On this basis, the new installation will be delivered to the customer once it is fully operational, the expected capacities have been met and the employees have been duly trained.
The clay preparation line will consist of a semi-dry method comprising the required equipment to ensure the most suitable grain size in order to obtain a high-quality product with a good surface structure.
The products will be dried in a “Celeris” rapid dryer allowing for accurate adjustment of the drying cycle, thus resulting in higher efficiency. With its simple, but technically advanced design along with a complete automation system, this dryer has a very low maintenance requirement. One of the main advantages of this dryer is the robustness of its mechanical system obtained by oversizing wheels and chains; it is also equipped with a counterweight to keep a suitable, constant tension of the chain.
The commissioning of this new brickworks is scheduled for early 2015.
BC Fella
The project will be implemented on a turnkey basis incorporating state-of-the art technologies. Equipceramic will be in charge of the entire process: design of the facilities, selection of the most suitable equipment, organization of the production process and training of the employees.
A “Celeris” rapid dryer has again been selected for the drying process since it enables extremely accurate regulation of the drying cycle, thus increasing the efficiency of the process. Equipceramic will supply the factory with a “FT” kiln, built on site for the firing process.
The packaging line will consist of a dehacking station comprising strapping machines for making strapped dispatch packages without pallets, the type of package currently in the highest demand in the Algerian market.
The commissioning of this new plant is scheduled for the beginning of 2015.
S.A.F.CER Group
S.A.F.CER Group has been active in the ceramic building materials industry for half a century and it is one of the most important companies in this field in Algeria. At present, it owns three operating units producing a wide range of tiles and whiteware products (clay wall and floor tiles) in Setif. The last one of these was commissioned last year and it integrates state-of-the-art technology for the production of ceramic wall and floor tiles in red and white colours and mainly for the production of stoneware “gré-cérame” tiles with sizes up to 1.20 m.
The S.A.F.CER Group also owns a factory producing hollow and solid bricks in Didouche Mourad (Constantine), the same region where the new Equipceramic-supplied factory will be set up.
The new project is the result of the cooperation between S.A.F.CER’s technical team and Equipceramic who agreed the supply on a turnkey basis of the following equipment and services:
