Equipceramic supplies North Crescent Investment, Jordan

North Crescent Investment, a company in the important Jordan-based Sinokrot Group, has decided to diversify its business by investing in the clay brick industry. The company has previously operated in the food sector as well as in other industries and has branches in Jordan, Palestine, Iraq and the Middle East.

For this new venture, North Crescent Investment is trusting entirely in the experience and know-how of Equipceramic, with which it developed the project and the market introduction strategy in respect of technical design and business performance. Great importance has been attached to maximizing flexibility of production. In the new brickworks, it will be possible to manufacture a wide range of products, such as perforated bricks, load-bearing and non-load-bearing clay blocks.

This new production unit will be located in Erbil (Iraq) and its 1 200 t/day output will probably position it as one of the factories with the highest production capacity in the Middle East region.

Following an extensive programme of tests, the clay preparation line as well as the refractory materials used in the firing areas have been fully adapted to the specific properties of local clays. The refractory materials were analysed and selected to guarantee the best performance.

Moreover, it should be noted that the entire production process has been automated by means of robots, ensuring high flexibility and energy efficiency in the plant.

This new project is already in its implementation phase and commissioning is scheduled for March 2014.
