New Cleia supervision system presented at “125 years of Morandi” anniversary celebrations
The new production management system developed by Cleia was presented to visitors during the second week of June. Nine PLCs located in three different brick and roofing tile plants were exchanged at the beginning of 2014, and also the whole data processing supervision system including redundant servers was refurbished. This latest generation equipment gives the plants a new dimension to production monitoring and new opportunities for the continuous improvement of production processes. New functions such as editable energy consumption reports, product traceability, and efficiency of the equipment were implemented. Many features are also available through terminal-type tablet PCs and smartphones. Parts of the PLC and of the supervision system were replaced during ongoing operation of the plant with very short stoppages.
At the presentation, Claude Caillot, Morandi’s Technical Director, praised the resounding success for Cleia and Morandi: “The teams have done an outstanding job, far beyond our initial expectations.”
