North African brick manufacturers rely on Refratechnik Ceramics
Refratechnik Ceramics – formerly Burton – continues to extend its activities on the North African markets. Refratechnik’s high-quality and durable products have been successfully implemented in these markets too. Major projects in Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Morocco are the result of close cooperation with kiln manufacturers and customers.
For the backing brick plant Briqueterie SOAB (Groupe Tedjini), Touggourt, Algeria, the entire refractory equipment for the wall and ceiling areas of the Cleia tunnel kiln was delivered. A further project in collaboration with Cleia S.A. is the perforated brick plant Guerrouache in Medjana, Bordj Bou Arreridj, one of the biggest mono-line brick plants in Algeria. Here too the wall and ceiling areas as well as 56 tunnel kiln cars were fully equipped with the refractory systems supplied by Refratechnik Ceramics.
For the construction of Plant 2 of the Sarl Edhaia brickworks, Ouargla, Algeria, wall, ceiling and 88 tunnel kiln cars were also delivered via the plant engineering company Sabo S.A. In future, Sarl Edhaia will manufacture the bricks on two production lines with a total capacity of 800 t per day. The first line has already been put into operation. Furthermore, in cooperation with Sabo S.A., Refratechnik has supplied the wall for the new tunnel kiln at Sarl Briqueterie SOUF in Algeria. The Mozara plant in Libya has also purchased the wall and ceiling materials from Refratechnik Ceramics.
Refratechnik Ceramics is also strongly represented on the Tunisian and Moroccan markets.
