Stephan Schmidt Group presents its portfolio at Tecnargilla 2016
As an owner-managed company, the Stephan Schmidt Group is specialized in the production of clays, clay mixtures and bodies, developing customized solutions to meet local conditions and requirements. Possible applications for these raw materials range from the wide variety of requirements for whitewares and heavy clay ceramics production to solutions for the diversified fields of industrial mineral products.
The basis for this wide range of products is the availability of extensive raw material reserves which, at the present extraction level of approx. 1.5 mill. t special clays per year, will last for several generations to come. Long-term consistency of quality at the highest standard to the customers’ satisfaction is one of the primary objectives of the staff, as is substantiated by certification according to DIN ISO 9001:2008 for all divisions of the company. Moreover, Stephan Schmidt KG recently put on stream a facility for ultrafine classification, enabling residue-free production of clay powders < 40 µm . This very high fineness is particularly suitable for applications in the production of engobes, glazes, enamels and fillers.
