Top-notch quality – Wendel‘s ISO certificates all up to date
Enamel and glaze producer Wendel, whose products are in use the world over, most notably in the construction, sanitary equipment and heating systems sectors, has once again demonstrated its high quality standards and sense of environmental responsibility.
The Dillenburg-based enterprise won high praise for its quality management system according to ISO 9001, as well as for its environmental management system pursuant to ISO 14001, in the form of the latest 2015-version certificates. “As a team“, explains Wendel‘s quality management officer Dorothea von Wolff, “we take pride in already being certified according to standards that just came out.“ And, as environmental management officer Jürgen Krüll adds: “The obligation to protect the environment is included in environmental policy and also covers the products’ entire life cycle.”
ISO standards, as they are called, define the requirements to be met by quality and environmental management systems. The latest changes to those standards pertain mainly to how opportunities and potential risks are dealt with and to how processes and know-how are managed. “Here at Wendel“, affirms managing partner Klaus-Achim Wendel, “we do not simply accommodate our processes to new standard requirements as a purely administrative measure. Instead, we view it as a chance to further strengthen our company‘s future viability within a global context. That goes for the quality of our products and services for our customers as well as for the environment. Since what good would prosperity and social security be in a world that is not fit to live in?“
