Lingl – new opportunities in China
continues to grow at breathtaking speed – and that irrespective of the worldwide economic crisis. Needless to say these developments also encompass all activities associated with the heavy clay industry. Lingl, the German machinery and plant manufacturer, cooperates with Grenzebach, Shanghai, to enable it to enter this new market more successfully.
Grenzebach is a medium-sized group of companies, with its head office in Hamlar, near Donauwörth, Bavaria. The group of companies employs in excess of 1500 members of staff on a worldwide basis. Grenzebach has had a presence in China since 1998 and operates two manufacturing plants, one in Shanghai and a second one in Jiashan – about 45 minutes by car from the plant in Shanghai.Grenzebach manufactures plant and process technological engineering for glass and plasterboard manufacturers, in accordance with their own high standards in quality, with a staffing level of 300 in China.
In the future Lingl will utilize these facilities by manufacturing certain parts of its product range locally. Cooperation at this level has conceivable advantages – both companies expect the same high level of product quality and a tight cooperation between their respective manufacturing and quality control members of staff will ensure consistency in product quality. Lingl and Grenzebach utilize the same PPS and CAD-systems, guaranteeing smooth data exchange transition between both companies.
An additional plus of this cooperation is the already existing service network, consisting of experienced fitters and commissioning engineers at Grenzebach, Shanghai. These fitters and commissioning engineers are fully trained in control and Robot technology. This will ensure Lingl’s ability to guarantee relevant After-Sales-Service to its Asian customers.
By taking this step Lingl will considerably extend its market presence in Asia.
