Dear Readers
2015 started straight off in January with a first highlight: At the “Bau 2015” trade fair, the clay brick and roofing tile industry presented its products and new developments to trade visitors from all over the world. We spotlighted a selection of these in the run-up to the trade fair in our Spot 1 newsletter. You’re interested in reading about them, but don’t yet get our newsletter? Then go to our website and register to get it now.
Delighted students and satisfied sponsors – that is the outcome of our first Zi Student Field Trip, which took place in late October 2014. You will find a detailed report on the trip starting on page 10. Encouraged by the good feedback and enthusiastic response of both the students and the participating companies, we plan to organize another field trip in 2015. Any companies wanting to get involved in supporting and attracting young talent into our industry are cordially invited to take part as sponsors.
One of the most important events for the ceramics industry in 2015 will be ceramitec in Munich. Of course, we shall be there with Zi Clay Brick and Tile Industry International from 20 to 23 October. For the third time now, we are organizing the “Heavy Clay Day” in cooperation with Messe München. Under the banner of “Efficient utilization of resources in the clay brick and tile industry”, we shall be focussing on both raw materials and energy consumption. Please save the date Wednesday, 21 October 2015!
2015 will be an exciting year. And we look forward to meeting you personally, dear readers, at one of the events.
Yours
Anett Fischer
Editor of Zi Brick and Tile Industry International
