Digital twin for machine operation and teleservice
For complex plants it is hard to design a text-based operating system in a clear structure. In the talk, a new software option is presented, which extends the proven Lingl machine operating system with a 3D view. For this entirely new concept, a “digital twin” is generated from the 3D-CAD model. It is able to imitate all movements of the plant and gives a quick overview of its state at every time. This visualization is also used for interactive operation of the machine and fault indication. The user can select the desired machine or the item to be controlled by tapping on the touchscreen. Text prompts are linked to their related parts in the technical drawing and are graphically highlighted. Thanks to the three-dimensional visualization, the handling of the system can be learned faster and troubleshooting is accelerated.
