Marcheluzzo technology with growing success in Europe
The Italian plant engineering company Marcheluzzo Impianti Srl has been contracted by the Spanish group Mazarron, based in Toledo, to realize one of the biggest investments in the clay roofing tile industry in Europe.
The owner-managed Mazarron Group has entrusted the Marcheluzzo brothers with extensive investments for the fourth time in 15 years, confirming their satisfaction with previous orders.
The current project comprises the conversion of a clay roofing tile plant with a mono-layer kiln. In the new kiln, which is 190 m long and 7.50 m wide, the products will be fired on mono H-setters. The best technologies available on the market have been used. The tiles will be fired in high pressures and with a firing cycle of around 14 hours to obtain a very uniform high fired product quality with a very low heat consumption.
Marcheluzzo is responsible for the complete supply, and is also installing new automatic loading and unloading equipment with cleaning system, following on from the packaging lines supplied in 2008. In addition, Marcheluzzo is reorganizing handling for lateral pre-kilns, the kiln line as well as the storage lines for fired material.
The basis for this project was extensive and detailed development work, which was necessary to cater for the different models of roofing tile to be manufactured at this plant. Suitable product supports, including refractory frame, had to be designed and the kiln cars adapted to the firing cycle. The turnkey supply included dismantling of the existing kiln and building of the new kiln in record time, which was possible only thanks to Marcheluzzo’s 45 years of experience in the organization and realization of such projects in the clay brick and tile industry.
