New board for Bavarian brickmakers
In future, a new board of directors will steer the activities of the Association of the Bavarian Brick and Tile Industry (BZV, Munich): At the general meeting on 20 May in Oberaudorf, entrepreneur Johannes Edmüller (Schlagmann Poroton, Zeilarn) was re-elected chairman of the board. Thomas Bader (Leipfinger-Bader, Vatersdorf) was elected 1st deputy chairman, while Markus Wiest (Ziegelwerk Bellenberg) was confirmed as 2nd deputy chairman.
The board members Michael Kellerer (Ziegelsysteme Michael Kellerer, Egenhofen), Max Venus (Tonwerk Venus, Schwarzach) and Thomas Wöhrl (Wöhrl Ziegelwerk-Deckensysteme, Wolfersdorf) were also confirmed in office. Dominic Jung (Walther Dachziegel, Bilshausen) and Matthias Hörl (Hörl & Hartmann, Dachau) joined the board, too.
Anton Hörl (Hörl & Hartmann, Dachau), former Chairman of the Board (2012- 2019), was appointed Honorary President by the General Assembly. Mr Edmüller thanked him for his outstanding voluntary commitment to the brick industry and the Association of the Bavarian Brick and Tile Industry.
Mr Thomas Thater, who did not stand for re-election, was honoured for his 28 years of service on the Association’s Board.
As a business and employers’ association, the BZV sees its task in improving the framework conditions for the brick and tile industry in Bavaria. Since its foundation in 1906, it has been committed to the idealistic, economic, socio-political and legal interests of its members. In addition to the Ukraine crisis and the housing shortage, the topics of building material recycling and climate neutrality are currently on the agenda of Germany’s strongest regional brick and tile association.
