Semi-automatic loading of strapped packs without pallets onto lorries
Amid Benbachir, Managing Director of the company, had entrusted Marcheluzzo Impianti with the installation of a new system to meet the following requirements:
Off-loading of layers of fired products and forming of packs with holes for handling with a forklift
Vertical and horizontal strapping of packs
Possibility to form packs of ceiling blocks as well as of B8, B10 and B12 masonry bricks
Development of a semi-automatic system for loading packs onto lorries
As, on account of lack of space, lorries are often not able to stop in the designated loading bays, but park elsewhere, products have so far been loaded manually. The expert team at Marcheluzzo Impianti developed a system to solve this problem. The new system stacks two packs of finished products ready for transport. Controlled by the operator, the new system approaches the first two packs very slowly and saves this position to its memory. Then the system automatically loads the other packs direct from the packing line to the correct position on the lorry. The entire operation takes place very slowly and the operative – following loading of the first two packs – just has the task of monitoring the automatic process and inputting any lorry changes.
The system improves the loading process significantly as the products are taken direct from the packing line, eliminating the need for interim storage and multiple handling of the packs. Of course, the system also includes a position for putting down the packs on the ground in case the lorry is not yet available or the products have to be stored in the yard.
In the meantime, the system has successfully undergone all tests and has long been operating continuously and reliably. With the help of Amid Benbachir, Marcheluzzo Impianti would now like to demonstrate this system to those interested. MD Benbachir is happy to welcome both existing and new interested Marcheluzzo Impianti customers to tour his plant on previously agreed dates.
