The single clays extracted from 20 company-owned opencast mines in Germany are homogenized and refined in the group’s modern preparation and grinding plants. Thanks to the extensive reserves of the companies within Stephan Schmidt Group, the supply of customers with raw materials is assured for several generations. Modern processing plants with high production capacities as well as weather-independent production and storage of standard products ensure short-term availability of the raw materials at any time.

The company’s sales strategy in the ceramics and mineral products division is based on Product Group Managers who are familiar with the customers’ production processes because they have learned the specific knowhow themselves in professional practice. Furthermore, the customers are supported with competent logistics concepts, using rail and ship transport in addition to the traditional lorry transportation of the raw materials.
