Hellmich GmbH & Co. KG

Hellmich is a company specializing in environmental engineering, which supplies, for example, solutions for flue gas cleaning, dedusting, tunnel kiln car cleaning and heat recovery.
Much of the overall cost in the production of ceramics goes for energy, and that cost pool is bound to expand in the years to come.
One way to keep a lid on it, though, is to recover thermal energy from kiln exhaust gases.
With that in mind, Hellmich has come up with a flue-gas/air heat exchanger made of rectangular pipes instead of the usual round tube bundles, so Hellmich’s heat exchangers can be cleaned by means of a simple, robust, low-maintenance system that ensures consistently good heat transfer.
In addition, part of the recovered warm air is added to the cooling air, hence effectively preventing unwanted condensation.
